O.K. this is a social networking site that we have created that will do all of the stuff that we have talked about for years except create a snail mail mailing list. This is being conducted as a test.....( hear the tone...listen hard)

Nice work, Keith & everyone! This is very similar to the tools available on the WordPress blog that Sam and Tim and I had setup, which can still be seen at http://nw-arts.com/cvweb/

A few key differences, off the top of my head:

This ning site is run for free, paid by the side-bar advertisements which we do not control -- but we don't have to fix any servers ourselves when there is a problem, and we get the latest ning tools since they run it themselves. Ning has a for-pay option which removes the ads... we should really examine their terms of use before we suggest Ning village-wide, there may well be legal issues for the Fair. I'm hopeful =)

The server I'm running the wordpress on is paid for by my business, and either it or this ning site could be run under their own domain name, for example the comvill.net one I purchased and donated to our CVweb team's endeavors, for the village. Sorry, this domain is still just parked at godaddy, I need to make it redirect to either this or the wordpress, I know!

I'm stoked about this, and I hope beyond hope that it creates a space for the kind of discussion the CV Drum fosters, while allowing those who would rather not involve themselves in that kind of discussion to opt out and see announcements only.

Anyone wanna help me learn how to replace my gray shadow spooky head with a real picture?

Go to your page on the menu and the when it comes up look just under the gray spooky thing and you will change picture click on that and then browse to your picture file and pick the one you want.

OK I I've got how it's supposed to work. The snag is I have no pictures of me in my picture file. I have a picture of Tom Hobson is all. Does anyone have a picture of me you could send me?
